The notorious and grotesque Black Dahlia murder flashes before us in bits and pieces – excuse the pun – but it is really no more than a backdrop for the cloud of lust and loyalty, duty and obsession that swirls around the interlocking lives of two LAPD detectives and their best gal in the film noir forties.

Maybe you are thinking that you don’t have the time or money to make such trip, but I have a very affordable alternative. Enjoy a long weekend in Las Vegas and you can experience the beauty of Venice’s canals, the majesty of the Eiffel tower, and the exquisite simplicity of a Japanese garden. Without risking a dime at the gaming tables, you can fill your days to the brim.
Superman’s return to earth is bittersweet as the man of steel finds that his heart is not. The nostalgic tribute to American’s number one superhero is both mythic and mundane, timeless yet tied down to comfortable clichés of the present.
The Constant Gardener should have taken heed of its title and done some much needed weeding. A coarse thicket of comfortable clichés nearly chokes out the light and beauty in this heavy-handed political thriller.
